As many of you may or may not know, Mark Cuban had a situation lately of banning bloggers from the maverick locker room. The NBA decided that was not allowed and here is Mark's response to that ruling:

What's going on with strip clubs all of a sudden?

It seems like there has been a rash of news regarding strip clubs lately and I'm not sure what's causing the effect? Let me give you a brief overview:

A) This story today from the Dallas Morning News on how a judge strikes down a measly $5.00 cover charge as unconstitutional is amazing to me. The fee was to help people that were sexually assaulted AND people without health insurance.

B) This story again from the Dallas Morning News about a 12 year old stripper at a strip club.

I know you might say say to yourself that this is "apples and oranges", but the point I want to make is both stories to me or ridiculous for 2 different reasons. How can something be unconstituional if it's already regulated, and how can we split hairs on one thing, and let something so heinous go apparantly unnoticed?

I could also throw in an addtional argument about drinking and driving after leaving a strip club but that may be more than the mind can handle as confusing as the first two stories are.

Look, I'm not trying to regulate how people live their lives. I just think somethings in life are painfully clear and I wonder how it all gets confusing? I wonder if we asked a stripper at a club if he/she has health insurance already how many would say yes? Of course the other side of that argument would be if you make a 1,000.00 a night why would you need health insurance?

Here's what I do know. The clock stops for no man or any law. Sooner or later the stripper has to find other employment when the breasts starts to sag. Pretty looks are fleeting. Where will the insurance be then?

Church, the new social club?

Let me state up front I respect everyone's desire to practice whatever religion they desire. I'm not about the business of slamming anyone especially when it comes to something so personal as their religious (or lack thereof) beliefs. But I have to wonder how sincere somefolks are about their so-called beliefs. If someone indicates who they are and what they believe in is sincere, more power to them. If the say they have a certain belief and have ulterior motives, I consider that a con and I'm not into con-artists. I have discovered some people even con themselves and don't even know it.

I happen to know a lady that says she goes to church on Tuesday (choir practice) Wednesday for the mid-week fellowship, followed by a revival by the same pastor. I asked her why didn't the pastor just make the Wednesday night service coincide with the revival, you know, a two-for-one deal? "Oh no" she says "if we had done that then the Mother of the Church would not have had the opportunity to speak. Huh? Mother of the Church? When did that become a position in the Church? Maybe I'm just our of touch with religion but I didn't know churches had that position. Of course I would imagine there needs to be a bunch of folks in leadership in her church seeing as how they took a trip to Kentucky last year for a conference. I didn't have the heart to ask if they went sight-seeing too.

Are churches just a convenient excuse to socialize? I mean seriously, are churches and members like a volunteer fire department where a bunch of folks go hang out waiting for something to happen? And let's take this a step further. Can you imagine a church congregation getting together to plan a trip to Six Flags and oh by the way, let's all endorse a presidential candidate?
Kind of scary if you ask me. We now have rock bands and people partying like hell in the name of religion. I really don't get it. To me anyways, one of the most religious people I knew was really a person that was very meek and studied her Bible daily. I never imagined her on a roller coaster at Six Flags.

The Cowboys Are Quite Stealth

We are pleased that we don't work in a field as compulsively paranoid as professional football. (The world of online journalism is typically too narcotically enhanced to have time for paranoia.)

Happy Easter!

As I begin to write, and thinking to write, it occurs to me I have several outlets to write. That made a lot of sense right?
But seriously, I get stuck in a fog in which I wonder how many words, on how many blogs or bulletin boards get consumed in a day. I would imagine the numbers are pretty infinite.
So then it comes down to an investment of time. How much is a person willing to read? And then I think isn't reading anything far better than being glued to a television for hours on end? At least when we read we can have different ideas.

I think it all just comes down to time. How much time do we have to do anything? How much time can we invest in reading? See how I'm getting bogged down with this already?

Happy Easter!
